Famille rose enamels on translucent glass; with a flat lip and flat foot; painted with a continuous scene of two cranes, each carrying a tally in its beak, in flight at sunrise over an ocean from which rise a rocky island growing with fruiting peach trees and the gold-tiled roofs of two submerged buildings; the foot inscribed in seal script Qianlong nian zhi 乾隆年製 (‘Made in the Qianlong era’)
Imperial, Yangzhou, 1770–1799
Height: 5.10 cm
Mouth/lip: 0.50/1.50 cm
Stopper: glass, carved with a coiled chi dragon
