**A BLUE AND WHITE CELADON-GLAZED SNUFF BOTTLE
JINGDE ZHEN KILNS, 1800-1880
With flat lip and recessed, flat foot surrounded by a circular footrim, decorated in underglaze blue with a continuous design, slightly raised design of a camel rider leading a second camel laden with goods, reserved against a celadon-glazed ground, with gilt-metal stopper

This bottle belongs to a small but usually impressive group of snuff bottles mostly of cylindrical or meiping form decorated with underglaze cobalt blue and celadon glaze.

For the importance of the camel in north China, see under lot 206. Camels often appear on mid- to late-Qing snuff bottles made in the north, or for a northern market.
