The Emperor’s Hat
Famille rose enamels on copper with gold; with a flat lip, concave foot, and flat foot rim; painted with four pendant conch shells hanging from bowed ribbons, each with a beribboned fylfot (swastika)hanging beneath it, the shoulders with a band of pendant formalized lotus petals beneath a band of double-unit leiwen 雷紋 (‘thunder pattern’), the outer foot rim with a design of formalized waves; the foot inscribed in regular script Yongzheng nian zhi 雍正年製 (‘Made in the Yongzheng era’); the exterior exposed metal once gilt; the interior with turquoise enamel
