Inlaid famille rose enamels on bronze with gold (cloisonné); with a flat lip, flat foot, and flat foot rim; decorated on each main side with a panel with boys and buffalos in landscape, one boy seated on his charge playing a flute, the other seated beneath a tree while the beast reclines nearby, the surrounds with an Indian lotus design, the neck with a band of formalized lingzhi, the base with a band of formalized petals, the foot engraved in regular script Qianlong nian zhi 乾隆年製 (‘Made in the Qianlong era’), the exposed exterior surfaces all gilt
